Silk Sleep

Silk Sleep Essentials

Your skin and hair spend a third of their life against a pillow, and the fabric they rest on matters. This collection is our silk lane: mulberry silk pillowcases, sleep masks, bonnets and scrunchies, plus the satin heatless curling kit for waves without heat. Less friction means fewer sleep creases, less frizz and styles that survive the night: small changes you notice within a week or two of switching.

Start with the mulberry silk pillowcase

If you buy one thing from this collection, buy this. It is the only item here that works on your skin and your hair at the same time, for every one of the hours you are asleep, without you doing anything. Envelope closure, standard UK 50 × 75cm, four colours, machine washable.

Read: how to do heatless curls that actually hold

The full overnight method, including the free sock version and what to change when the curls drop out by lunchtime. Most of it comes down to one variable nobody states plainly: how damp your hair is when you wind it.

Why silk over cotton

Cotton is absorbent and comparatively rough at the fibre level. Overnight that means it drinks your skincare, tugs at hair as you turn, and presses creases into skin. Long-strand mulberry silk has a smoother filament surface, so hair glides instead of snagging and your night cream stays where you applied it.

You don't need the whole bed in silk. The pillowcase does most of the work, a bonnet or scrunchie protects styled hair, and a sleep mask adds blackout without pressure on lashes. Start with the pillowcase; add the rest as your routine settles.

Caring for silk

Silk lasts when washed gently: a cool delicate cycle in a laundry bag with a pH-neutral detergent, then air dried away from direct sun. Skip fabric softener and tumble drying. Treated this way, a good pillowcase stays smooth wash after wash rather than turning matte and rough.

Frequently asked questions

Do silk pillowcases actually help hair?
They reduce friction, which is the mechanical cause of overnight frizz and breakage. A silk pillowcase will not change what your hair is, but most people notice smoother mornings and longer-lasting styles within a couple of weeks.
What is the difference between silk and satin?
Silk is a natural fibre; satin is a weave, usually of polyester. Satin gives some of the smoothness at a lower price, which is why our heatless curling kit uses it, but mulberry silk is more breathable and gentler on skin over a full night.
How often should I wash a silk pillowcase?
Weekly is the practical rhythm for most people, or twice weekly if you use rich overnight skincare. Wash cool and gentle, and it will keep its finish.
